Community
Outreach
Since 2023, Vanceboro Christian Help Center (VCHC) has served 32,642 individuals and 12,262 households, providing over 1 million meals each year.
VCHC identifies and assesses the needs of the underserved individuals in the area. VCHC collaborates with other organizations and agencies to assist with meeting the immediate needs in the community.
Nourishment
VCHC's food pantry is a healthy pantry, offering fresh produce and healthier choices. Individuals shop for their own food like they would at a grocery store.
VCHC is associated with Central and Eastern NC Food Banks and Vanceboro Food Lion Retail program.
Apparel
VCHC's thrift store offers gently used clothes, personal items, and household items for a discounted price. The thrift store is open Mon/Wed/Fri 8am-12pm.
Donations to the thrift store are accepted and greatly appreciated during our open store hours.
Fellowship
VCHC offers a fun and engaging night out! All of our clients are welcome to attend. Come experience delicious food, engaging fellowship, meaningful devotions and fun crafts! Contact VCHC for more information on upcoming events.
Seats are limited, so please register at VCHC to attend.

Connecting Hearts and Helping Hands
Building a better future through compassion
At VCHC, the main priority is meeting the needs of our community. The costs of groceries and household items are at an all-time high. Many other contributing factors can make affordability difficult for the average family.
Single-parent families have increased; and, often they don't receive their child support regularly, if at all. Some families struggle with limited education and/or training, making sufficient employment difficult.
Many of the elderly people live alone. A large portion of their income may be spent on medications and/or transportation. Unfortunately, there aren't many programs in our community to assist them with these needs.
There are many other needs within our community, and the Vanceboro Christian Help Center continues to work to help meet the needs of the underserved residents of Western Craven County.
